England’s valiant attempt to lift the Deaf Cricket World Cup fell at the last hurdle as they were ultimately outclassed by favourites India in the Final.
England had done sensationally well to reach the Final having defeated old rivals Australia in a memorable semi on Friday.
The Final, however, proved just one step too far and hosts India lifted the trophy in front of their jubilant supporters.
India batted first and posted a challenging 218, knowing England would have to bat extremely well to reach the 219 required for victory.
In reply, England performed well but the Indian bowlers always held the upper hand and dismissed their brave opponents for 137.
