Pat Tremain won the 2006 Osca in the Behind The Scenes category - the full list of nominees was as follows:

Kenneth Day

Treasurer at Shotley Bridge CC in Durham, it’s not easy to describe Ken Day as invisible. In fact he’s always there! Although it’s been many years since Kenny played cricket (until well into his 50s) he’s still one of the staunchest supporters of the club and is just as vital a member of the team as he’s always been.

A volunteer, 69-year-old Ken is club treasurer, bar manager, events co-ordinator, bookings clerk, caretaker, teas organiser, key holder and all-round oracle about everything SBCC. Nothing is too much bother – whether opening up the clubhouse for a specially convened meeting, photocopying bank statements for a grant application or sourcing a particular flavour of peanut for a fussy player.

He’s changed with the times, running his own tuck shop for the kids. He’s more than just club treasurer, he’s the club treasure. Unflappable, reliable, funny, resilient, resourceful and capable of switching his hearing aid off when it suits him.

Michelle Smith

Michelle undertakes all senior and junior secretarial duties to an excellent standard at Frecheville CC, such as general administrative duties; funding applications – many of which have successfully secured valuable resources to enhance club facilities; arranging indoor and outdoor tournaments; coordinating U17 tours, including booking accommodation for players and supporters and securing suitable venues for games.

Michelle has been instrumental in the development of a Junior section, giving invaluable support to all coaches and team managers and developing and embedding Child Welfare policy.

Michelle works hard to supply catering for senior cricket teas, junior matches and evening events, and can be relied upon to transport junior players to and from matches or undertake shopping for any occasion.

Pat Tremain

In 2005/6 Pat was bar manager, ordering, stocktaking, serving and cleaning at Benfleet CC. She managed fundraising events such as a Youth Sponsor Day and also raised £45,000 in grants for outdoor nets, an electronic scoreboard and sightscreens for the Essex club.

She completed negotiations with the Council for a very favourable club lease after five years of patient discussion. She attended courses and is the Club Welfare and Child Protection Officer and was project manager on two NatWest Cricket Force events, including a QVC makeover and refurbishment of the changing rooms.

She regularly attends local Sports Council meetings and is the link to social members, Council officers, and other clubs. She completed all the work for the Club SX award. A year very much like the last 12. She is also reknown for the best teas in Essex.

Hilary White

Treasurer of the Cheshire Cricket Umpires & Scorers Association, Hilary is dedicated to helping recreational cricket in the county in many ways. Hilary started many years ago as a scorer at Radbroke Hall CC, progressed to a little umpiring and eventually became both a full-qualified ACUS umpire and scorer, although her first love is scoring at which she must be one of the best and most knowledgeable in the country.

Hilary has also for many years been both a qualified umpire and scorer instructor, helping out with odd lectures on the Cheshire Umpires training courses but also runs a minimum of two one-day scorers courses entirely on her own each year.

For the last six years Hilary has been Treasurer of the Cheshire Cricket Umpires & Scorers Association. Over the years she has served on the committee in various positions both at Radbroke Hall CC and the Cheshire Cricket Alliance and just this year has become Chairman of the Cheshire Cricket Alliance Umpires Association.
