Michael Wood won the Osca in the Leagues and Boards category - the full list of nominees was as follows:

Graham Beckett

Graham has never played cricket but has been one of those volunteers that are essential to local cricket clubs. In his late 30s Graham became a regular spectator at his local cricket club, Davenham CC, joining the club as a social member. In 1985, Graham joined the committe as Fixture Secretary, a post that he still holds.

In 2001 due to the ill health of the club's Treasurer Graham agreed to hold the fort on a temporary basis, becoming permanent Treasurer a few months later, again a position that he still holds. During 1996 it was apparent that the Fixture & Results Secretary of the Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League, due to pressure of work, required an assistant.

Although not a league committee member, Graham, whose club was a member of the league was approached and agreed to help out. A year later Graham took over the job as the League's Fixture & Results Secretary, a position that he has held for the last 10 years.

Wendi Bolton

Wendi has provided exemplary vision and leadership in the promotion and development of girls cricket within West Yorkshire. In a matter of a couple of years she has developed girls cricket at club level such that Pool in Wharfedale CC now boasts many junior cricketers performing at County level.

In addition, the West Yorkshire district has a thriving girls-only League attracting teams from other parts of Yorkashire. She has also pioneered 'development centres' where girls are encouraged to attend prior to going onto the county Pathways scheme. The centre based at Prince Henry's School, Otley has provided a model which the West Yorkshire Association are seeking to emulate at Keighley, Huddersfield and in Leeds in the next year.

Wendi provides the drive and inspiration for such schemes. She has also promoted coach development amongst the older girls and ten recently attended a Level One Cricket Coaching course. She is also a county manager of the U15 side and works really hard to promote cricket at all levels.

Michael Talbot-Butler

A Lifetime Achiever, Mike played cricket enthusiastically for school, Lancashire schools, Army and clubs until age 50, playing in Manchester Association and Cheshire County League for 30 years. Since formation of the latter in 1975 he has been Secretary, Publicity Officer and Competitions Secretary as well as umpiring virtually every Saturday for 26 years.

Produces 800 copies of weekly League Newsletter throughout extended season and monthly in winter, compiles the excellent League handbook of some 300 pages and helps organise the Annual Dinner. As Representative to League Cricket Conference has been a selector for their Representative matches.

Founder Chairman in 1978 of the North West Colts Trophy has since been secretary and committee member. This U18 competition has been a breeding ground for a number of good players, including John Crawley, John Morris and Neil Fairbrother.

Michael Wood

'Dedication with results', the requirement for this category, is the description that perfectly suits Mike Wood, Results Officer of the Saracens Hertfordshire League. Every Saturday he collates results from the league's 240 teams playing in 13 divisions, updating the Herts League website by 1am on Sunday and emailing results and tables to more than 900 people around the world.

Yet results represent only one-third of Mike's contribution to the League. In Autumn he creates the fixture list (more than 2,000 matches) then pauses for Christmas with his young family, before editing the league handbook, producing 148 pages packed with information and great content. All year round Mike is entirely responsible for the league's website, which gets over two million hits a year, an unsurpassed communications medium that has built the ultimate partnership between the Herts League and over 3,000 club cricketers.

For good measure he edited the 2006 Club Cricket Conference Yearbook, an invaluable tool for some 1200 clubs in the south east.
