NatWest OSCAs - nominees 2006 - Lifetime Achiever

Oscas 2006 Allan Vollans Lifetime Achiever

Alan Vollans won the 2006 Osca in the Lifetime Achiever category - the full list of nominees was as follows:

Karrar Khan

Captain and Manager of 1st and 2nd team at Lady Bay Boots CC. A high-performing player for 21 years, Karrar’s determination as Captain (of eight years) to get to the top was proven by eight years of promotion.

Often getting seven wickets a match, he set the unbroken record of 48 wickets in one season. Karrar thrives on team spirit and wants the fun kept in the game! Karrar has paid match fees, arranged lifts for his loyal players, who out of respect call him ‘Uncle’. Recently Karrar concentrated on the 1st team but when the 2nd team was having a spell of bad luck, he went to captain them (while still organizing the 1st team) leading them to victory each time.

At 63 years of age, Karrar has had countless wins and faced adversity yet never given up. His summers are for cricket, the weekends are booked, the phone is engaged throughout the week, and his undeniable love for the game is evident!
