There are many organisations dedicated to the recruitment of volunteers that could provide assistance to organisations searching for volunteers - and keen volunteers looking for opportunities.
Volunteer Centre
A Volunteer Centre could be described as a dating agency for volunteers! Organisations requiring volunteers go to a Volunteer Centre and people keen to volunteer go to a Volunteer Centre as well. Then, the Volunteer Centre matches the placement to the individual.
Find out where your local Volunteer Centre is - they will be able to help you in a variety of ways. Not only will they seek out volunteers for you but they are also great sources of advice regarding the management of volunteers. Some of them will also be able to advise you on sources of funding.
To receive a copy of the Volunteer Centre Directory call 01216 334 555 or vist the website www.vde.org.uk and look under Volunteer development agencies.
Sport England www.sportengland.org
It is strongly advised that you become a member of Sport England's Volunteer Investment Programme (VIP) Network by ringing 0800 363 373.
