ECB Regulations for the Review of Bowlers Reported with Suspected Illegal Bowling Actions
The ECB's Management Board has approved updated Regulations for the Review of Bowlers Reported with Suspected Illegal Bowling Actions.
ICC recently announced a revised bowling review process following a very thorough review of this whole area and it was concluded that it made good sense to heavily base the ECB regulation on the work already undertaken by ICC.
The main difference between the ECB and ICC regulations is that ECB’s regulation continues to require two reports from different umpires in different matches within a 12-month period in order to trigger the Independent Analysis of a bowler’s action whereas ICC’s regulations only require one report.
A good deal of consultation has gone into the process of updating the ECB regulation including some very constructive input from the PCA.
