The ECB has announced that Durham and England pace bowler Stephen Harmison’s arrival in New Zealand for the forthcoming Test series has been delayed pending the birth of his fourth child.
Harmison was due to arrive in New Zealand later today (Friday) with England’s other specialist Test players to begin preparations for the three-match Test series which starts on March 5.
ECB managing director, England Cricket, Hugh Morris, said: “Following discussions with the national selector, Geoff Miller and the head coach, Peter Moores, Stephen has been given dispensation to remain in the UK to attend the birth of his fourth child.
"It is anticipated that he will now join the Test squad in New Zealand in the early part of next week.”
