Essex wicketkeeper James Foster, Gloucestershire pace bowler Steve Kirby and Nottinghamshire pace bowler Charlie Shreck have been called up to the England Lions squad for their forthcoming tour of India.

The trio has been added to the squad following the withdrawal of Worcestershire wicketkeeper Steven Davies with a knee injury and county colleague Kabir Ali with an ankle injury.

Andrew Flintoff will not be joining the Lions squad for the tour of India and is currently making good progress with his recovery from ankle surgery.

He will continue his rehabilitation programme with Lancashire and it is anticipated that he will be available for their pre-season tours of India and Dubai.

Kirby and Foster will be joining the Lions squad this week at their training camp at the National Cricket Performance Centre.

The Lions are due to fly to Mumbai on Wednesday January 23 where Shreck will join them from New Zealand, where he is currently playing cricket for Wellington.
