South East Division leaders Kent Spitfires came out on top against Surrey Brown Caps in a run-fest in their Friends Provident Trophy match at Canterbury.
The hosts piled up 337 for three in their 50 overs as Darren Stevens smashed 119 not out off 77 balls, hitting four sixes and 10 fours, with Martin van Jaarsveld’s unbeaten 113 off 108 - which included 10 fours - somewhat overshadowed.
The persevering Chris Jordan was rewarded with 3-53 as most of the other bowlers came in for some punishment.
Surrey captain Mark Butcher led the charge with 139 off 121 balls, hitting a six and 16 fours, sharing 126 for the third wicket with Usman Afzaal (74).
Ali Brown chipped in with 38 but the visitors ran out of steam and were eventually dismissed for 320 with two balls remaining.
Jason Gallian hit 111 not out and Ravi Bopara smashed 85 off 72 balls - including four sixes and eight fours - as Essex Eagles beat Middlesex Crusaders by eight wickets.
The pair shared an unbroken third-wicket stand of 153 - after Varun Chopra made 50 - as the hosts won with seven overs to spare.
Earlier Eoin Morgan had cracked 100 off 111 balls, hitting six sixes and five fours, and Ed Smith made 75 as the visitors reached 259 for seven .
In the South West Division, Hampshire Hawks beat Glamorgan Dragons by four wickets after successfully chasing down the hosts 229 for five thanks to key contributions from Michael Carberry (65), Chris Benham (39) Michael Lumb (35) and Michael Brown (35no).
The result was harsh on Michael Powell, who hit an undefeated 114 off 140 balls - his first limited-over century after a decade of trying.
Somerset Sabres captain Justin Langer made 117 off 131 balls and Ian Blackwell 53 off 63 as the hosts posted 278 for nine, which proved more than enough to beat Worcestershire Royals by 84 runs at Taunton.Steffan Jones and Peter Trego both claimed three wickets apiece as only Daryl Mitchell (92) put up any real resistance for the visitors.
In the North Division Yorkshire Carnegie moved into second place with a seven-wicket win over Scotland Saltires.
Craig White top-scored with 69no but with Gerard Brophy (61no) and Jacques Rudolph (48) contributing significantly the visitors made light work of the Scots’ 193 for eight.
Captain Dale Benkenstein led from the front with 64 and Garry Park scored 42no as Durham Dynamos made 205 for eight at home to eventually beat leaders Lancashire Lightning by six runs.
The visitors, who were 170 for six after Mal Loye (77) and Steven Croft (48) had made decent scores, found themselves needing 12 to win off the last over but fell short and eventually closed on 199 for nine.
Leicestershire Foxes moved two points clear at the top of the Midlands Division with an 81-run victory over Ireland.
Boeta Dippenaar (69) and HD Ackerman (54) rescued them from a potentially tricky 25 for two, sharing a third-wicket stand of 80 before captain Paul Nixon (48 off 45 balls) put on 96 with the former as the visitors eventually posted 245 for five.
Claude Henderson then claimed four wickets for 30 runs as the hosts were dismissed in the 43rd over - despite 65 by William Porterfield.
Second-placed Nottinghamshire Outlaws were resoundingly beaten by 52 runs at home by Warwickshire Bears.
Chasing only 174 for victory, the hosts were dismissed inside 30 overs as James Anyon (3-6 in five overs) and Neil Carter (3-25) did most of the damage.
Earlier a battling 64 in an hour and 27 minutes from Ian Westwood helped the visitors recover from 36 for four.
