Kent have received approval from the Pakistan Cricket Board for all-rounder Yasir Arafat to be their overseas player in 2008.
He will be available for the entire season unless he is selected by Pakistan for international cricket.
Kent's director of cricket Graham Ford said: "We are delighted that Yasir is coming back to play for us again.
“He made an immense contribution to the playing squad last year and I know he is keen to repeat his performance for the club again this year."
Arafat added: "It is great news that I have received clearance from the Pakistan Cricket Board to play again for Kent.
“I really enjoyed my time at the club last year and am excited about our prospects for 2008."
Arafat helped Kent to the Twenty20 Cup title in 2007 with 14 wickets and he claimed a further 27 in the LV County Championship, alongside two hundreds.
