Hampshire have confirmed the signing of Yorkshire batsman Michael Lumb.
The left-hander, a graduate of the England Academy and former England A tourist, chose a move to the Rose Bowl over an improved contract at Yorkshire.
“I’m really looking forward to facing new challenges at Hampshire and working with Shane Warne, Paul Terry and the Hampshire guys,” said Lumb, who scored 963 runs at an average of 41 in the Liverpool Victoria County Championship this season.
“I’ve always preformed well at the Rose Bowl and I look forward to scoring runs in front of the Hampshire supporters next season.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Yorkshire, but I felt the opportunity to take a fresh challenge to reignite my desire to play at the highest level was too much to turn down.”
Terry, Hampshire team manager, added: “Michael is a terrific signing for Hampshire.
“I have long regarded him as one of the best young talents in the country and the opportunity to sign him was too good to miss.”
