Gough rested for Sussex clash

Anthony McGrath takes over the captaincy from Darren Gough for their LV County Championship match against Sussex at Scarborough this week.

The veteran seamer is being rested ahead of two crucial NatWest Pro40 games next week and his place in the squad has been taken by Steven Patterson who took eight wickets for the second XI last week.

Tim Bresnan could be made available for Yorkshire from the second day of the fixture if he does not play for England in the final match of the NatWest Series.

Mohammad Sami is set to make his Sussex debut in the match against Yorkshire after signing for the club as an overseas replacement for the retired Mushtaq Ahmed.
