Fast bowler Simon Jones is a major doubt for Glamorgan’s LV County Championship Division Two match against Somerset as the Welsh county play at the new-look Sophia Gardens for the first time.
Jones suffered a calf injury in the drawn championship game against Northamptonshire last week and is unlikely to be fit to face Somerset after being ruled out of Sunday’s washed-out Pro40 game against the same opponents.
The 28-year-old will undergo a fitness test ahead of the clash along with fellow seamer Andrew Davies who has a damaged right elbow.
Fast bowler Huw Waters is included in a 14-man squad after a scan on his bruised foot did not show any major damage, but David Harrison is still on the sidelines following back surgery at the start of the season while James Harris remains on England Under-19 duty until the end of the month.
Jimmy Maher and Tom Maynard are the other two players to be added to the XI that faced Northants at Colwyn Bay.
Glamorgan return to their Sophia Gardens home which has undergone the first stage of redevelopment ahead of hosting its first Test match against Australia in 2009.
Leaders Somerset will have to do without Cameron White.
The all-rounder starred with bat and ball in Somerset's six-wicket win over Nottinghamshire last week, taking six wickets in the match and notching a first-innings century, but has now linked up with Australia A squad for their tour of Pakistan this week.
Also added to the team which beat Nottinghamshire are Michael Munday and Mark Turner to form a 13-man squad.
