Martin set for Warwickshire recall

Chris Martin could be back in action for Warwickshire

New Zealand seamer Chris Martin could return to promotion-chasing Warwickshire’s line-up for the visit of Northamptonshire in Division Two of the LV County Championship.

Martin, who is Warwickshire’s overseas player, missed their previous championship outing - a draw with Leicestershire.

Young medium-pacer Chris Woakes, who also missed the last game at Grace Road due to England Under-19 commitments, is also available again.

Tony Frost retains the keeping gloves with Tim Ambrose in action for England in the fourth npower Test against South Africa.

Northants wicketkeeper Niall O’Brien is available again following international duty with Ireland which saw him miss the draw with Derbyshire.

However, fellow gloveman Riki Wessels may keep O’Brien out of the side after hitting fifties in both innings at Chesterfield.

South African seamer Johan van der Wath could replace fellow countryman Johann Louw having been rested against Leicestershire.

Off-spinner Jason Brown is set to continue with Monty Panesar again on England duty.
