MCC Spirit of Cricket County Team Award
A trophy is on offer each season to the most disciplined county cricket team - with Yorkshire the current holders going into 2008.
Points are awarded by the umpires to each team at the end of each LV County Championship match, NatWest Pro40 match and Twenty20 Cup group match, based on the conduct of all members of the side.
Each county's points tally is logged in a table with the top team at the end of the season winning the `MCC Spirit of Cricket County Team Award'.
Points are awarded in the following way:
Three points: Exceptional. The team epitomised the true spirit of the game.
Two points: The team played the game in a good spirit.
One point: The team is less than good spirited, but manages an incident-free game.
Zero points: The team created a generally antagonistic atmosphere.
Minus one point: The team demonstrated unacceptable behaviour.
If a player is found guilty of a breach of the ECB Code of Conduct during a match, his team will automatically receive a minus one rating.
To recognise the differences in match duration, points awarded in LV County Championship games receive a 3:1 weighting.
