Australian batsman Marcus North is set to play for Gloucestershire in their first home LV County Championship match of the season against Nottinghamshire on April 25.
North will arrive a few days before the match for his short spell at the county as he deputises for New Zealand batsman Hamish Marshall whilst he is at the World Cup.
Marshall received a late call up for the New Zealand World Cup squad last week which has delayed his start date at Gloucestershire.
Marshall could now make his season debut for in the County Championship match against Somerset in Taunton on May 23.
North has previously played for Lancashire, Durham and most recently for Derbyshire and is a key member of the Western Australia side.
This season he scored an impressive 239 not out against Victoria in the Pura Cup and he has also played for Australia A.
