Ireland batsman William Porterfield will head for a trial with Gloucestershire at the end of the World Cup.
Porterfield, a 22-year-old left-handed opener, confirmed that he was in discussions with the county but insisted he had not been offered a contract.
He said: “It's a trial - just a preliminary trial. There is nothing special about it.
"I have had four summers playing in England and this follows the ICC winter training camp last year.”
Porterfield admitted to being disappointed with his form in the Caribbean, 31 in Ireland’s last game against England being his top score.
“It has not been very productive so far but I am hoping to build on what I did against England during the rest of the tournament,” he said.
