England and Worcestershire players Vikram Solanki and Kabir Ali celebrated success in their first match for Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy Group B.
On the third day of the four-day contest with Gujarat in Ahmedabad Rajasthan posted 204 in their second innings, and then seamer Kabir collected figures of 2-41 as Gujarat crumbled to 142 all-out, to go down to a 138-run loss.
Solanki hit a cultured 58 in Rajasthan’s first-innings of 204 and Kabir collected identical figures of 2-41 in Gujarat’s first-innings of 128.
Both players are trying to expand their games in the hope of earning England recalls.
Kabir believes bowling on the batsman-friendly Indian wickets will stand him in good stead for playing on the flatter wickets in Division One of the Liverpool Victoria County Championship after Worcestershire's promotion.
The pair will be with Rajasthan until the end of February and will play seven four-day games and four one-day matches.
The Indian board's regulations allow teams to include three players from outside their state as "professionals" with no restrictions on how many of the three can be foreigners.
Solanki has represented England in 51 one-day internationals but is yet to be capped in Test cricket while Kabir has played one Test and 14 one-dayers.
