Surrey have extended the contracts of coaches Geoff Arnold and Nadeem Shahid to keep them at the county until the end of the 2009 season.
Arnold - first-team coach between 1986 and 1993 - spent two years acting as a bowling consultant at Surrey before becoming a permanent member of the coaching staff as the assistant coach at the end of the 2003 season.
Shahid was a key member of the Surrey squad that won three County Championships from 1999 to 2002 after joining the county in 1995.
Following his retirement from first-class cricket in 2004, Shahid enjoyed an appointment as Surrey’s community officer in 2005 before being promoted to second XI coach at the start of 2006.
Arnold said: “I am obviously delighted to have extended until 2009.
“With the likes of Neil Saker and Jade Dernbach coming up through the ranks, the club is entering a very exciting period and I look forward to being a part of it over the coming seasons.”
Shahid added: “I thoroughly enjoyed my first season as the second team coach and am delighted to have been given an extended period to work with some of the club’s young, up and coming players.
“It is an exciting time to be involved and I am expecting bigger and better things for 2007."
