The Twenty20 Cup returns to the Riverside this week with Shaun Pollock making his Durham Dynamos debut after arriving in the North East at the weekend.
Durham’s specialist Twenty20 overseas player Albie Morkel is also set to step out with the men in black after joining up with squad following his appearance in the Indian Premier League final for Chennai Super Kings
The entertainment won’t just be restricted to the crease: sparks will fly as the teams enter the field and the superb Durham Allstarzz will be interacting with the crowd before and during the game and there will be face painters and balloon modellers keeping youngsters entertained around the ground.
The Rowland’s Chartered Accountants Bowl Out Cup will take place during all match intervals searching for the best under-13 teams in the region, with each heats winner going through to the grand final in July.
Durham chief executive David Harker said: “Twenty20 is undoubtedly changing the face of cricket and the revolution is about to hit the Riverside. We have the best specialist Twenty20 players in the world joining up with our already strong squad, we hand picked Shaun and Albie for their expertise and talent in this form of the game and I’m sure they’ll help us deliver.
“Not only is the game explosive the entertainment we have to go alongside the main event really should give everyone a reason to come along and enjoy a great night out.”
Tickets are now on sale for all of Durham’s Twenty20 Cup fixtures: a season ticket for all five games is priced at £40 for adults and £20 for juniors.
Two match passes are available for £20 for adults and £10 for juniors. These passes must be purchased in advance of the games you wish to attend.
Individual match tickets are also available and are priced at £12 for adults (£15 on the day) and £5 for juniors (£6 on the day).
