Matthew Hoggard believes there will be little room for surprises after Yorkshire were drawn to play Durham in the quarter-finals of the Twenty20 Cup.
The teams will meet on Monday July 7 after Yorkshire won their winner-takes-all clash with Nottinghamshire on Friday.
Hoggard was dropped by England in New Zealand last winter along with Steve Harmison - who he will face at the Riverside - and the 31-year-old admits the teams know each other well.
Hoggard said: “We saw them twice last weekend, we are seeing them on Sunday for the four-day game and then we are going to have to travel up there for this.
“So I don’t think there will be any surprises, we know where everybody hits it and where everyone bowls so it should be an even, fair contest.
“It will be interesting. We know Durham are a good one-day squad but we’ve been playing some good cricket as well, so it will be interesting and whoever plays best on the day will come out with victory.”
Hoggard does not believe playing at home is any advantage in the Twenty20, adding: “Everybody plays on the same pitch and it is such a short turnover and game that it doesn’t change.
“So you play on the same surface and it is just whoever plays better on that surface.”
