Twenty20 Cup - match start times 2008 (23 KB)
Changes to the Twenty20 Cup in 2008 also include the provision of extra time with 30 minutes or 60 minutes of extra official playing time in all group matches to make up for playing time lost.
The ‘most wins’ tiebreaker has been removed and the tiebreaker that analyses the points gained in matches between teams that finish on equal points has been re-introduced.
The draw for the Twenty20 Cup quarter-finals takes place at the end of the televised match on Friday June 27, live on Sky Sports.
The top two teams from each group and the two best third placed teams will qualify for the Quarter-finals. The top team from each group and the best second placed team will receive home draws in the Quarter-finals.
Tiebreakers
The tie-breakers for teams finishing on equal points are:
(a) When teams have equal points, the teams will be ordered according to which team achieved the most points in the matches played between them.
(b) If still equal, the team with the higher net run rate in the Group Matches will be placed in the higher position.
(c) If still equal, the team with the higher number of wickets taken per balls bowled in the Group Matches in which results were achieved, will be placed in the higher position.
(d) In the event that teams cannot be separated by (a) to (c) above, this will be done by drawing lots.
Tiebreaker (a) only applies in respect of teams that are in the same group and cannot be used across groups in determining the best second placed team or the two best third placed teams.
