England batsman Kevin Pietersen has been fined 30 per cent of his match fee for dissent he showed after his dismissal in the second innings of the second Test against India.
Pietersen pointed to his forearm after being given out by umpire Darrell Hair, adjudged caught at slip, attempting to sweep, off the bowling of Harbhajan Singh on the fourth evening.
Television replays showed the ball missed Pietersen's gloves and struck him above the wrist.
Pietersen was found to have breached level 1.3 of the International Cricket Council's code of conduct by match referee Ranjan Madugalle - showing dissent at an umpire's decision by action or verbal abuse - and was punished to the tune of £1,650.
The penalty for a level one offence is an official reprimand and/or a fine of up to half of a player's appearance money.
