St Ives are the cream in 6's

Hcb Seventeen 6s St Ives

The winning team from St Ives

St Ives took the honours in the HCB Seventeen 6’s competition for 2006, beating Godmanchester Town by six wickets in the final.

All 18 clubs compete wearing coloured shirts in their club colours, with the competition sponsored by BOOTS Opticians of Stamford.

David Holmes, Huntingdonshire Cricket Board Youth Committee Chairman, said: “It was another successful competition, with all the clubs stating they like the format - and it gives the players at this age group a bit of fun playing cricket!”

St Ives reached the final by winning their group with a 100 per cent record after four matches, then seeing off Orton Park in the semis by three wickets.

Godmanchester Town also won all four of their group matches before gaining a walkover past Peterborough Town into the final, where their 56 for three was passed without loss by St Ives thanks to 34 not out by Ivan Lewis.
