AK XI enjoy Hunts success

AK XI have bounced back from a disppointing 2007 to seal promotion from Hunts League Division 3 this summer.

Fixture Secretary Andalib Iqbal said: "After being disheartened by various set backs last season, ranging from injuries, fixture cancellation, finding a decent pitch to play on, we have come strong in 2008.

"We have won the Hunts Div 3, meaning promotion to the second division next season."

The Peterborough-based side, now hope to build on this in 2009 and beyond. Added Iqbal: "AK XI hope to repeat the success next season, where they are eyeing bigger and better horizons.

"Thanks to all the people who supported us through the ups and downs of the season, and a special thanks to the sponsors Martin and Co for their contribution throughout the season."
