Jenny Gunn and Charlotte Edwards are gearing up for an exciting series in India

The top four teams in the women’s game will compete in the ICC women's quadrangular series in Chennai, which takes place every four years to ensure regular international cricket for each nation.

England women will take on Australia, India and New Zealand in a series of one-day internationals throughout late February and early March culminating in a final and third place play-off on March 5.

The fourteen-man squad will depart Heathrow airport on February 13, heading to Chennai, returning on March 6.

Executive director of women’s cricket, Gill McConway said: “With the top four teams in the world meeting in India, it’s a very exciting phase of the international touring schedule for women’s cricket.

“The quadrangular series was initiated in New Zealand four years ago and was such a huge success that all the teams signed up to continue with the competition every four years.

“England have improved every year since the New Zealand quadrangular series and are in the best shape possible for being strong contenders in the final.”
