Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene is confident his team are capable of beating West Indies in the upcoming Test series.
Sri Lanka recently endured a disappointing Commonwealth Bank one-day series in Australia, finishing third behind the hosts and India, but Jayawardene believes he has the right mix of players to pull off a first series win in the Caribbean.
“We have never won a series in the West Indies so far but we feel there is a good chance for us to do so,” he said.
“We know that the West Indies are a strong outfit in their own back yard but we have a good blend of players who can do the job for us.”
The first Test begins in Guyana on March 22.
