There are wonderful opportunities for your county to get involved in European cricket development.
If you are interested in adopting a country please contact gill.mcconway@ecb.co.uk at the ECB and discuss which one of the countries would best suit your ideas.
Gill, ECB’s Executive Director Women’s Cricket, will then make contact with the country and introduce you and leave you to develop the relationship.
There are many benefits for all concerned. For your youngsters it can be seen as a sports and educational experience and development. This should open some funding opportunities especially if the educational benefits are highlighted.
You may wish to start on a low key basis sharing emails and websites, talking about what activities you have run and what development initiatives have been successful in your county.
You may wish to invite some of their players over for a weekend cricket festival or coaching clinic. You could approach your CSP, Local Authority, Youth Sports Trust, Regional Development Agency or find a local business sponsor.

Ian Moss has approached Germany. A group of players visit on May 25 and will enjoy visiting places of interest, a mini festival and a three-day coaching camp.
Ian has found sponsorship locally and Wraye from Germany has found sponsorship in her country.
